FAQ page is a non-exhaustive list of common questions and answers relating to the user manual. Its primary purpose is to enable self-service for you customers and users.

1.2 Power-on indicator

Example Question

The power-on indicator remains dark after you switch on your device.

  1. Power cable incorrectly connected. Make sure that the power cable(s) is/are correctly connected to the server and the grounded power outlet(s).
  2. Power supply overloaded. Disconnect the server power plug(s) from the grounded power outlet(s). Wait a few minutes before you plug it/them into the grounded power outlet(s)
    again. Switch on your server.

1.3 Screen remains blank

This trivial example covers the steps to resolve the problem of a blank computer screen. What is obvious to some people is not always obvious to others.

  1. Monitor is switched off. Switch on your monitor.
  2. Screen has gone blank. Press any key on the keyboard or deactivate screen saver and enter the appropriate password.
  3. Brightness control is set to dark. Set the brightness control on the monitor to light. For detailed information, refer to the operating manual of your monitor.
  4. Power cable or monitor cable not connected.
    1. Switch off the monitor and the computer. Check the power cable is connected to the monitor and to the power outlet.
    2. Check whether the monitor cable is properly connected to the server and monitor (if it is plugged in with a connector).
    3. If a separate graphics card is installed in the server, then the monitor cable must be connected to the graphics card. Switch on the monitor and the server.
